JOB CODE: REPORTS TO: Operations Manager - Agronomic Research
JOB PURPOSE: Support the collection, processing, aggregation, and organization of various spatial agronomic research data.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the collection of spatial and management data from planting, application, and harvesting precision agriculture equipment sources (e.g., AgLeader, Greenstar, Precision Planting, Raven, Satloc, and Trimble) used in various on-farm evaluation projects.
• Create various spatial files required for field data collection by field staff, agronomists, and farmers (e.g, field boundaries, sample points, research plot plans, and prescription maps.
• Coordinate the collection of remote sensing data sources (e.g, digital aerial or satellite imagery) for various on-farm evaluation projects.
• Process, aggregate, and organize spatial and crop management data for analysis and summaries.
• Create data backups and maintain metadata of various projects.
• Work with multiple datasets to generate summary reports.
• Assist the webmaster with posting field report summaries and maintaining online databases.
• Streamline and improve current methods of collecting and processing various spatial data.
• Troubleshoot and solve various technical problems with spatial software and precision agriculture hardware
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Interface with team members to support various communications and administrative needs.
• Communicate with growers as needed while transferring various spatial data and crop management information.
• Assist in field data collection.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Geography or related fields; a GIS certification is preferable. Two years of experience working with Geographic Information Systems or precision agricultural mapping systems is ideal, but not required. Demonstrated experience with ESRI ArcGIS 10.X products including ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcToolbox, and the Spatial Analyst extension. Candidates must be proficient in all Microsoft Office products including: Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. Also, the desired candidate must have strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
